Visualize Your Dreams

Visualization is a key factor in staying motivated. Your mind activates and starts working on your dreams every time you “see” your goal.

Using visualization is easy when you use a dream board. A dream board is a collage of your goals. Simply create a dream board and hang it where you will see it regularly.

To build your dream board, these are some of the items you will need:

    • Poster board or cork board
    • Pictures or words of your goals
    • Glue, tape, or tacks

Arrange your words and pictures in a fun manner and attach them to your board. Hang your dream board in your shower (using a large waterproof zipper bag), next to your mirror, bed, or in your work area and look at it often.

Stay motivated and energized by starting every day with visualization of your future!

Example of a Powerful Affirmation

Affirmations and belief in ourselves creates happiness within. Affirmations should be said with strength and conviction; your affirmations should come from your heart. The true power of affirmations cannot be discounted.

I want to share a post called The Power of Positive Thinking written by Lorelei, a friend of mine who has a wonderful blog for parents. Within the post she shares a You Tube video called Jessica’s Daily Affirmation and you don’t want to miss it. If adults learn by example, this is one example we should learn from.

Morning and Evening Affirmations

What starts your day perfectly?  Are you a morning person or a night owl?  Either way, these two affirmations should help you feel better and be more productive.

Say this in the evening:

I am waking up at  __( time ) a.m._  in the morning because I know it creates the time to get the things done that will lead toward the achievement of my goals.  I am so excited about reaching my goal of __( insert goal )___.      I am going to bed at  __( time ) p.m.__  and I will feel great tomorrow because ________  hours is plenty of sleep for me to feel great and to be able to achieve what is truly important to me.

 

Say this in the morning:

I enjoy waking up each morning at  __( time )a.m.__  because I know it creates the time to get the things done that will lead toward the achievement of my goals.   I had plenty of sleep and I feel great!  I will do the most important step toward reaching my goal of ________________ first, before anything else, because that is what is truly important to me.

Note:  If you wake up 1 hour earlier or go to bed 1 hour later, whichever works best for you, and you devote that 1 hour to your goals, you will gain 7 hours per week which is almost 1 full workday.  Each year you will accumulate approximately 50 extra work days!

Positive Affirmations

Having a positive attitude and believing in yourself can change your life.  You can achieve anything you believe.  

Positive affirmations set your beliefs and ambitions in motion.  For balance in your life you should have affirmations in every area.  The areas are:

  • Financial
  • Educational
  • Physical/health
  • Family
  • Social
  • Spiritual

Change your life and start today by choosing from the list below or createing your own affirmations for each area of your life.   You may have as many affirmations as you would like for each area.

Write your affirmations down and place them where you can see them every morning and every night and say them out loud and in first person.

Examples of Positive Affirmations:

Today is the best day of my life and tomorrow will be even better
I can achieve what I believe
I am successful
I am financially independent
I make $___________ monthly
I love my job
I drive a ____________
I live in (city)_________, (state)________
I learn two new words every day
I put $_________ each month into college savings plans
I am healthy
I eat healthfully
I exercise 5 times every week

I enjoy spending time with my family

My family accepts me for who I am

I have a large circle of influence
I donate to charities regularly

Do this right now before you move onto something else.  You will create a positive change in your life by adopting this one simple task.
