Promise Yourself – The Optimist Creed

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

Wonderful creed to live by and that is why I am sharing this.

Promise yourself to be strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.

To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel that there is something in them.

To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.

To think only of the best, to work only for the best.

To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.

To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.

To give so much to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.

To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud words but great deeds.

To live in faith that the whole world is on your side so long as you are true to the best that is in you.

Positive Life Changes

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

How do you manage change in your life? Changes are essential because they open new doors to opportunity and they create room for adjustments. Accept change because without it, your life may become lackluster and cheerless.

Everyone experiences change, whether it is a change in their job, relationship or health. It may even be a change you initiated that may suddenly seem daunting.

Practice being good at change and always focus on the positive. Sometimes it may take some time to realize that a specific change of circumstance was actually a gift in disguise. The gift you receive may not even be related, in any way, to the change you experienced. For example, you may lose your job but find yourself in a rewarding new relationship would never have taken shape if you were still employed.

Change may lead you to new people, help you develop a stronger belief in yourself, provide you with new opportunities, or inspire you to live a healthier life.

It’s important to be on the lookout for the good that can transpire from unexpected changes.

Rejuvenate Your Life

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

Do you have low days; days where you feel down? It’s fine to have those days once in awhile. Sometimes you just need a day to refresh.

These are the days when you need to be thankful for who you are, reflect on your past achievements and review where you are going. Ponder the successes you are working toward and think about the exhilaration you will feel when you reach those successes.

Take the down day to examine your life, find your soul, meditate, or read. Indulge in something that puts you back on track the next day.

After your day off, begin your next day with your power start and feel the rejuvenation! Rekindle your momentum and take some action steps toward your goals. Keep putting one foot in front of the other. Do not quit!

The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. Lao Tzu

Gratitude

Monday, July 19th, 2010

Knowing what you are grateful for is an important factor to happiness and success.

Being aware of everything that you have to be thankful for will help you create a positive focus. Gratefulness will help you reach your goals because you are seeing all the positive things that are happening in your life.

When you are focused on the things that make you worry, you may fall into an unproductive state, which will set you back from reaching your goals. Even obstacles in our lives make us learn and problem solve, so accept these as opportunities of personal growth.

You are responsible for your success or failures, so let’s focus on successes!

Here are ideas to help bring gratitude into your life every day:

Start a gratitude journal
Create a gratitude list
Add a statement to your power start and give thanks every morning
Read your goals each morning, then add one thing you are grateful for
Put a rock or piece of polished glass in your pocket and every time you see it or feel it, think of something you are grateful for

Realize what you have and who you are and find ways to be thankful for everything.

Today I Will Master My Emotions

Sunday, July 18th, 2010

“The Greatest Salesman in the World” by Og Mandino an excellent book and it’s not just for salespeople. The concepts in this book will help you to positively alter your attitudes.

Excerpt:

Weak is he who permits his thoughts to control his actions; strong is he who forces his actions to control his thoughts. Each day, when I awaken, I will follow this plan of battle before I am captured by the forces of sadness, self-pity and failure –

If I feel depressed I will sing.
If I feel sad I will laugh.
If I feel ill I will double my labor.
If I feel fear I will plunge ahead.
If I feel inferior I will wear new garments.
If I feel uncertain I will raise my voice.
If I feel poverty I will think of wealth to come.
If I feel incompetent I will remember past success.
If I feel insignificant I will remember my goals.
Today I will be master my emotions.

End excerpt.

I highly recommend this book. It is an easy read and well worth your time!

Turning Your Limiting Beliefs Into Empowering Beliefs

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

It is so important that you turn your limiting beliefs into empowering beliefs because in order to reach goals, you must believe in yourself.

I know I can do anything!

I know I can do anything!

If you have even the slightest inkling that you may not reach your goal, that notion will hold you back. You must empower yourself by taking charge of your beliefs so you can be at your greatest.

Limiting beliefs are caused by a lack of confidence and/or fear.

Why do we experience fear or a have lack of confidence? It just takes shape over the years from our environment, our teachers, parents, or a past event. The bottom line is that any limiting belief you have, was accepted by you and you alone.

Examples of limiting belief versus empowering beliefs:

I don’t have the time.    VS     I have plenty of time to do the things that are truly important.
I am depressed.             VS     I have total control over how I feel every day. I choose to be happy.
I’m not smart enough.    VS     I am intelligent and I can learn anything that I desire
Its too late to start.       VS     I am starting today or Its never too late to start.

Write down any limiting beliefs you have and then write an empowering belief next to that.
Rewrite only your empowering beliefs on a clean piece of paper.
Every morning when you awaken, read your new beliefs.

If its fear that is causing your limiting beliefs, you need to take steps to overcome whatever is causing that fear. Get out of your comfort zone. Don’t let fear hold you back. Believe that you can, and you can, do anything. You are capable.

Write down any fears that you need to overcome in order to reach your goals.
Write down the steps you must take to overcome that fear.
Commit to get out of your comfort zone and start taking empowering steps.

Move past any self defeating beliefs and stop using words and phrases like “I can’t” and “impossible.” From today forward, catch yourself every time you say “I can’t” or have any negative notions. Commit to saying only positive, uplifting phrases about yourself.

Everything you want is just outside your comfort zone. – Robert Allen
